North Carolina named the top state for business

On Behalf of | Dec 12, 2018 | Business Law

A recent report points to North Carolina being a very business-friendly place. This report is Forbes’ 2018 rankings of the best states for companies.

This report ranked North Carolina the best state in the whole nation for business. This is the second year in a row in which the state has been given this top spot.

In ranking the states on business-friendliness, the report looked at 41 factors from six categories:

  • Quality of life
  • Regulatory environment
  • Labor supply
  • Growth prospects
  • Economic climate
  • Business costs

North Carolina did well in all six of these categories. It made the top 10 in half of them. The state ranked 2nd for business costs, 8th for regulatory environment and 10th for growth prospects. In the remaining categories, the state was just barely outside of the top 10. It was ranked 11th for labor supply, 12th for economic climate and 12th for quality of life.

So, this recent set of rankings indicates that North Carolina continues to have very good conditions for businesses. Many things can impact how able a company is to take full advantage of favorable business conditions that it encounters. This includes how good of a job a company does at avoiding missteps when pursuing the opportunities such conditions open up. Errors that could cause problems in this regard include mistakes in the handling of legal matters. This is among the reasons why obtaining quality legal guidance is so important for North Carolina small business owners when legal issues come up for their company.
